Laboratory Quality Management Systems Training Workshop in Liberia
On behalf of the German International Cooperation (GIZ) and the Ministry of Health (MOH) of Liberia, Health Focus GmbH and Integrated Quality Laboratory Services (IQLS) conducted a 3rd on-site training for laboratory health workers in southeast Liberia from 14-19 November 2022, in Monrovia. This was part of the project: “Improving laboratory quality management systems towards SLIPTA accreditation in Southeast Liberia”; which aims at improving the quality management systems (QMS) in five County hospital laboratories in the Southeast of Liberia: FJ Grant Hospital laboratory (Greenville, Sinoe), JJ Dossen Hospital laboratory (Harper, Maryland), Fish Town Hospital laboratory (Fish Town, River Gee), Martha Tubman Memorial Hospital laboratory (Zwedru, Grand Gedeh), and Rally Time Hospital laboratory (Grand Cess, Grand Kru). This specialized training focused on the following:
- Review of the Medline SLIPTA audit conducted in October 2022
- Evaluation and Audits (SLIPTA section 6).
- Nonconforming event management and process improvement (SLIPTA Sections 10 & 11)
- Management review (SLPTA Section 2)
In all, 26 participants from the listed five Counties including representatives of the National Diagnostic Division (NDD) of the Liberia MOH and the Infectious Disease Detection and Surveillance (IDDS) attended the 6-day training workshop
