Strengthening Reporting and Monitoring in the Health Sector for the Africa Region

Contribution to the preparation and outcomes of the Joint WHO-UNICEF-UNAIDS-OGAC/CDC/USAID capacity-building workshop: Strengthening reporting and monitoring in the health sector for the Africa region:
- Provide a summary analysis of key materials relevant to data collection (related to Universal Access and UNGASS reporting for 2010) and quality of data (from M&E assessments and existing data quality reviews), submission of summary templates of the analysis by countries, and overall summary of the UA health sector and UNGASS reports for 2010 reporting, of key strengths and weaknesses in reporting and action plans (for country follow-up action plans, and updating of GF country profiles updates);
- Produce an updated version of the “Guide on Indicator for Monitoring and Reporting on the Health Sector Response to HIV/AIDS” for the 2011 reporting based on lessons learned from previous reporting;
- Provide a summary of joint WHO-UNICEF-UNAIDS-OGAC/CDC/USAID Capacity Building workshop focused on data related to PMTCT, ART, HCT programs and HSS/PSM
- Analysis of key materials from countries and key partners (e.g. country profiles, M&E assessments and data quality assessments /audits), in particular the “follow-up action plan” for the two areas of data collection and data quality;
- Production of deliverables for the workshop (presentation of key findings of the desk study during the workshop, updated version of the “Guide on Indicator for Monitoring and Reporting on the Health Sector Response to HIV/AIDS”, summary workshop report)
- Development of workshop evaluation questionnaire, participation and contributions to the workshop;
- Coordination with WHO/HQ and key partners such as UNAIDS Secretariat and Global Fund.
